Stage version of Therese's emotional life story, accompanied by modular synthesiser, percussion and guitar. Therese wants to lead a self-determined life - independent of parents or men. Without an education, without a secure job, but with a clear desire not to enter into a hasty marriage. She wants to remain free - independent and self-confident.

In fin-de-siècle Vienna, she ends up living as an unmarried, single mother. While she earns a living as a governess in the city, her son grows up with foster parents in the countryside.

Schnitzler's view of people's inner motivations is made tangible by Rita Luksch's haunting performance and Georg O. Luksch's multi-layered music. A play about self-determination, social expectations and a decision that many young mothers and fathers still have to make today: between being close to their own child - and the need to earn money.
