Roger Hargreaves, the inventor of Mister Happy and his friends, is regarded as a world star of children's literature. The first book in the ‘Little Miss and Little Men’ series was published in 1971 - there are now 92 different characters.

At the centre of our play is Mister Forgetful, who enters the stage and - true to his name - has forgotten why he is there in the first place. Together with the audience, he sets off in search of what he has lost here.

This takes him on a ludicrous journey through Lachland, Jammerland and other wondrous places. Along the way, he meets some of Roger Hargreaves' best-known and weirdest characters - for example Mister Funny, Miss Chatty Cathy, Miss Gemini and, of course, Mister Happy.

In ‘Miss Sonnenschein und Mister Glücklich’, the young audience learns a lot about people and their search for a place in the world - and may even recognise one or two Misses or Misters in themselves...
