Enjoy nature with a sense of sheep
The Hauser Kaibling, the highest mountain in the Schladming 4-mountain ski area, is not only a highlight in winter but also a paradise for families in summer. Here, breathtaking nature, animal encounters, and action-packed adventures meet culinary delights.
More than 800 sheep roam the Hauser Kaibling. A petting zoo, a children's adventure trail, the Sheep Sense Pond with a sheep via ferrata, the Sheep Sense Barefoot Trail, and much more await you, all centered around sheep.
Exciting playgrounds, themed hiking trails for all ages, beautiful e-bike tours, water zorbing, and much more entice you to lofty heights. Fabulous viewpoints, such as the summit at 2,015 meters, and culinary delights in the summer huts guarantee an enjoyable and relaxing mountain experience.
Alpine Lamb - Project
Experience sheep up close
Every summer over 800 sheep spend their summer vacation at Hauser Kaibling. The large herd is looked after by a mountain shepherd and his sheepdog. The focus is on producing a high-quality product - the “Ennstal lamb”. At the same time, the alpine landscape is maintained ecologically, biodiversity is preserved and overgrowth is prevented. The highlight of the Alpine lamb project is the annual Styrian Alpine lamb festival on the last Sunday in July.
