The tour
The family-friendly winter hiking trail on the Hauser Kaibling combines scenic and culinary delights at the same time. The Tauern cable car takes you comfortably to the mountain station, where the groomed trail starts. The route leads past catered huts to the Kaibling Alm. A perfect winter experience for connoisseurs who appreciate both the breathtaking view of the Dachstein massif and the opportunity to stop off at cosy huts.
Turn-by-turn directions
From the mountain station of the Schladminger Tauern cable car, follow the signposted winter hiking trail. Past the valley station of the Gipfellift, you reach the d'Genussalm. Here you cross the ski path - please be careful - skiers have a longer braking distance than you. Above the ski path, the winter hiking trail then continues to the Kaibling Alm. The return journey takes you the same route.
Getting there
Leave the B320 Ennstal-Bundesstraße at the Hauser Kaibling exit. After the subway at the Hauser Kaibling valley station, continue straight on for approx. 500 metres in the direction of Haus. After a small wooden bridge, turn left uphill towards the Tauern cable car.
