HUAT – Rock Music in Styrian Dialect
HUAT dress up energetic rock music in the distinctive sound of Styrian dialect. The four musicians from Graz burst with energy and joy of playing – far larger than the Styrian Ennstal valley, where lead singer Marco “Huat” Hutegger got his dialect roots. Their lyrics, drawn from real life, explore themes like love and loss just as vividly as the inhumanity of the refugee debate or stumbling home at 4 a.m. – authentic and straight from the heart.
Their debut album Weidagånga, set to release in 2024, was recorded and produced independently with their close friend and sound engineer Daniel Vitar. Deeply autobiographical, the album traces a path through tough times, while always staying optimistic and full of life. Weidagånga, taken literally, is a call to keep going, to not give up, and to keep believing in the good.
Ennstal meets Rock 'n' Roll.
Blues harp meets distorted and acoustic guitar, drums, bass, and dialect lyrics that go straight to the heart.
Imagine Jack White having a beer with a young Led Zeppelin in Schladming – and it sounds like they’ve got relatives here.
That’s the sound of HUAT.
